Building an AI agent that answers well in a demo has become easy. Taking it to production, connected to your tools, secured, monitored and cost-controlled, is another story entirely. That’s exactly the gap Amazon Bedrock AgentCore is built to close.
AgentCore is a set of managed AWS services to deploy and operate AI agents at scale, regardless of the framework you used to build them. Instead of rewriting an agent for every project, you stand on solid, reusable building blocks.
The problem: a demo agent isn’t a production agent
A prototype agent fits in a script. In production, you face much harder questions: where does the agent run and how does it scale? How does it remember a user’s context from one session to the next? How does it call your business tools without being handed the keys to everything? Who did what, and how much did it cost?
Answering each of these by hand means weeks of plumbing, redone for every new agent. AgentCore standardises the answers.
A managed runtime, no servers to run
The AgentCore runtime runs your agent in an isolated, secure environment, with no cluster to administer. Long-running sessions, per-user isolation, automatic scaling: infrastructure stops being the topic. You keep your code and your agent framework; AgentCore takes care of running it reliably.
Connecting the agent to your tools, without opening everything
This is often where projects stall. The AgentCore Gateway turns your APIs, Lambda functions and existing services into tools the agent can use through the MCP protocol, with scoped permissions. The agent doesn’t get blanket access to your information system: it gets precise, traced, revocable tools. CRM, ERP, DMS, internal APIs become governed capabilities, not open doors.
Memory, identity, observability
Three building blocks separate a gadget from a service:
- Memory, the agent retains short-term conversation context and, when needed, durable preferences, without you building your own memory store.
- Identity, the agent acts with the right user’s identity and permissions, integrating with your identity providers. No “admin agent” that sees everything.
- Observability, every step (reasoning, tool calls, responses) is traced and measured, with cost-per-token tracking. Essential to debug, audit and steer the budget.
Security and control, by design
Because it builds on AWS, AgentCore inherits the foundations enterprises expect: network isolation (private access via PrivateLink), encryption (KMS), traceability (CloudTrail), and EU data residency. Combined with Bedrock guardrails (filtering, sensitive-data masking) and human validation on risky actions, you get an agent that IT will agree to put into production, rightly so.
Our approach
At Intelligence Partners, AgentCore isn’t an end in itself: it’s the foundation that lets us ship reliable, integrated and governed agents fast, and reuse that foundation from one use case to the next. We start from your need, pick the simplest form, assistant, specialised agent or automation, and take it all the way to real, adopted, measured usage.
The result isn’t one more demo, but a service that runs, under your control.
